Restistance to Change and The Law of Attraction
Resistance to change is a state of not allowing. It is putting up a wall, or better yet a dam to all that you truly are….infinite, limitless, magnificent creator. The well-being that you truly are is piled up in a reservoir the size of the Pacific Ocean (for many) behind that dam of resistance.
Imagine just letting go of all of that resistance. Allowing everything you’ve ever wanted, to just be…..you’d have to gather together all living things, two-by-two and load up the ark, as the floodgates of allowing would be wide open!
Easier said than done you may say…I would tend to agree until you start slowly and just let something in!
This week’s quote from Abraham suggested something I am already quite familiar with. And that is giving up the need to be right about anything. When you no longer feel the need to be right there is no wall, no dam, no resistance for anyone else to have to make a stand against you and your position.
Start practicing this art of allowing. Give up your need to be right about anything. Then start observing what happens!
I started to recognize this at an early age. I owned a restaurant on Nantucket for many years. Our clientele was predominantly city folk from Boston and New York….tough crowd! When a customer “wanted to speak to the owner” about any problem they may have been having about the service or food, I would very easily approach the table, let the customer speak their mind and I would easily provide a solution. I could see no one ever expected this! I diffused a bomb every time by not resisting and providing a simple solution. I allowed them to be right.
I’ve been practicing this art for decades now. Life is soooooo easy when you don’t have to be right, ever! Feeling the need to control anything or anyone is so exhausting. No one needs to be controlled by anybody else. We’re all here to experience exactly what we are creating. “Let Go and Let God” is truly what we are here to do. God, if that is what you want to call it, resides within all of us. We are all “God Godding” in our own unique way.
When you realize how, in fact, eternal we all truly are, you can appreciate how every experience matters, no matter your perception of it. If someone else continues to repeat patterns you do not understand or approve of, so what! We’ve all got eternity to live it out, experience, and change as needed in our own time and space. If someone wants to experience being a major league problem for 100′s of years, God Bless them as it’s simply a blip on the map of eternity. They are providing another point of contrast from which to launch our own unique points of view, without which life could be quite dull and monotonous.
Start allowing everyone you know to be right and watch resistance melt away. I am well aware of the truth provided in the Teachings of Abraham and the Law of Attraction. Following are some of my recommendations to getting you on the road to being the Deliberate Creator of Your Own Life! No more living by default!

Ask and It is Given – A True Story and Pink!
The following is a true story about the workings of the law of attraction and manifestation and “Ask and it is given”.
In 2004 I was recovering from a rather life changing event. I experienced a quantum spiritual awakening. The aftermath of that awakening was rather crippling…though I do not want to frighten anyone who cares to be awakened to who they truly are….it is well worth the journey. Though, if you pay attention to the laws of attraction, you can bypass a difficult awakening and deliberately intend to experience who you really are and how you are truly connected with an awakening that is filled with Ease, Grace and Knowing.
In any event here’s the true story about asking for something and having it given to me in quite a magnificent way:
For most of 2004 I was incapable of working to any degree. This is not the history of who I have always been. I have always worked from as far back as age 10 or 11 when I had my own paper route. I worked all through high school and college right into my own businesses after college and to this day. I was also responsible during jr. high and high school for helping my parents, who worked, with caring for my 4 other siblings by preparing meals or just watching out for them.
I woke up one morning pondering the fact that I was not working. Worrying about the fact that I was not working and questioning what I was to do. I still felt incapable of taking on anything that required being responsible for much, especially overseeing or leading others (which are some of my primary work skills). I questioned to myself, what I was to do, knowing I still don’t feel like doing anything, but felt a little bit that I “should” do something.
I also know that I don’t need to “should all over myself”
So, I decided I would just get dressed and start my day of doing nothing. I will just go to downtown Glenwood Springs, CO, stroll around, get a cup of coffee, watch passersby and enjoy a simple and beautiful summer day. I took a shower got dressed and headed out.
As I’m driving downtown, there’s a trivia question on the radio. The trivia begins with a quote by a famous singer. The quote was essentially this:
I am taking the next year off to just relax and regroup. I’ve been responsible my whole life and now I just need a break.
The trivia question is; who said this?
Sting
Pink or
Billy Joel
After I heard the 3 choices, I knew the answer. I also knew that this is also the answer to the prayer I had put out to life this morning when I awoke and asked about the issue about my working.
I too have been responsible my whole life. I too had (involuntarily) taken close to a year off from work. I too understood that life was giving me the message, “that it is perfect and as intended for me to take this time off in my life”.
So….what’s so magnificent about this? How was it that I “asked and it was given”?
The answer to this trivia question was Pink, the singer. The reason I knew that this was the answer to my prayers is because of the following:
That morning when I got up, I showered and dressed. here’s what I wore that day (I’m not kidding!):
- Pale pink cargo pants
- a bight pinkt-shirt with colorful Popsicles across the front
- a pink bra
- pink underwaer
- pink socks
- pink flip flop earrings
and to top it off….
- I bought my pink purse, which happens to have a pink monkey key chain hanging from it with me!
I share this story because it is my experience that when “it is asked it is given”
has been true for me in numerous ways. My other observation about this and the laws of attraction is that when what you ask for is “Heart Felt” …that there is sincerity and appreciation for assistance, it shows up!
When you become conscious of yourself…your thoughts, feelings, and patterns in your life you tune into this type of assistance. I am very aware and know that when I ask for something with appreciation, I get answers in myriad forms. This story is simply an example of one form. Life’s ability to communicate to you is limitless..as you are!
Allow life to give to you what you seek in your heart. It’s quite magnificent and moving!
Stay tuned for more on the topics of the law of attraction and manifestation on this law of attraction website and blog. I have many more stories like this to share.
“There is great love here”!
